Insensys (Intelligent Sensing Systems) is a privately owned global leading supplier of fibre optic measurement systems. We supply strain measurement systems to many leading Wind Turbine manufacturers, as well as customising core technology for applications in Oil & Gas, Aerospace, Marine and other markets. Insensys is based in Fareham, employing approximately 50 people. We design and manufacture on site, and deliver systems to our customers in Europe, Asia and the US. Summary of the Production Planner Role:

  • Responsible for ensuring the production team have all materials, resources and facilities necessary to deliver against agreed schedules. Direct reports currently stands at 15
  • Responsible for planning of manufacturing activities, including production output, stock availability and procurement.
  • Working as part of the team managing all aspects of Operations and Production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a proactive and engaging link with the production team on a day to day basis, including active involvement in line management (with General Manager). Play a leading role in training, assessment and development of the team, and provide technical advice and support to the team in production.
  • Responsible for carrying out short and medium term scheduling (approx. 0-16 week timescales) of production activities. Work with General Manager in respect of longer term planning.
  • Responsible for planning and purchasing of low and medium value stock items. Work with General Manager in respect of high value stock purchases. Responsible for ensuring inventory levels are correct in Sage and RIC, including organisation of periodic stock checks/cycle counts.
  • Responsible for administration of production paperwork, including management of works orders, delivery paperwork, shop floor paperwork etc.

  • Responsible for ensuring all deliveries are correct before dispatch, including quality of goods, packaging and paperwork.

  • Working with Production Engineering and General Manager to monitor and improve existing Production processes and systems, and develop new processes and systems as required, including staff training and assessment.

  • Support the adherence of the Kingdom Close facility to our QHSE policy and implementing all systems correctly.

  • Any other ad hoc duties as required by the company.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Low to medium volume production planning
  • Team focused
