Insensys (Intelligent Sensing Systems) is a privately owned global leading supplier of fibre optic measurement systems. We supply strain measurement systems to many leading Wind Turbine manufacturers, as well as customising core technology for applications in Oil & Gas, Aerospace, Marine and other markets. Insensys is based in Fareham, employing approximately 50 people. We design and manufacture on site, and deliver systems to our customers in Europe, Asia and the US. Our company has grown rapidly in the past 18 months and continues to expand in all areas. Summary of Role: 

This is a new role focussed on coordinating and managing the Insensys’ supply chain activities.  Insensys is a rapidly growing and dynamic business, our optical sensing products are used by the world’s largest offshore wind turbine manufacturers.  


Monday – Friday 08.30 – 17.30

Full time permanent position

Reporting to the Finance Director



The role will focus on strategic sourcing activities including:

 

  • Developing strategic relationships with new and existing suppliers to negotiate optimised terms and conditions of business and to ensure the supply of goods and services in line with the operational and strategic goals of Insensys.
  • Ensuring optimal supplier performance in terms of cost, quality, and delivery. The setting of service level agreements, monitoring of performance and the provision of feedback.
  • Identifying and mitigating supply chain risks whether that be vendor or commodity related.
  • Managing the implementation and development of contracts and of contractual relationships where appropriate.
  • Implementing a best practice purchasing vision supported by robust processes to aid and improve business performance.
  • Identifying ways to streamline the current administration processes associated with Purchasing activities in order to remove non-value-added activities.
  • Working closely with Operations and production teams for daily build items
  • Working closely with Engineering through product development phase to ensure robust supply chain during production hand-over  
  • Maintaining supplier records, opening and closing accounts
  • Improving the environmental impact of supply chain activities


 Qualification and other requirements:  
  • A Supply Chain Management Professional with leadership capabilities and excellent understanding of operational delivery in a manufacturing environment
  • Supply Chain Management qualification and 5 years’ experience ideally both in planning and logistics
  • Ability to manage and influence to ensure consistency of SCM activities and processes
  • Good business acumen, strong communication skills and commercial awareness
  • Must be highly organised with good time management skills and attention to detail

Comply with all Client QHSE controls, processes and other requirements on Client work sites.
