Founded in 2002, the company designs and manufactures complete fibre optic sensing systems, interrogators, and customised sensor arrays that deliver accurate, reliable, and real-time strain and load measurements in demanding environments.

For more than 20 years, Insensys has helped turbine manufacturers, owners, and operators gain critical insights into structural performance, supporting turbine control, load validation, performance optimisation, and lifetime extension. Installed on thousands of wind turbines worldwide, its advanced sensing technologies provide valuable data that enhances reliability, reduces operating costs, and maximises energy production.

With full in-house design and manufacturing capabilities, Insensys serves customers across Europe, Asia, and the United States. Its robust, solid-state sensing systems are engineered for long-term operation of 25+ years in challenging conditions and are trusted by leading turbine manufacturers and engineering partners around the world.

Insensys is led by an experienced Board of Directors with extensive expertise across engineering, technology, operations, finance and business leadership. With over 80 years of combined experience working in a range of international organisations ranging from start-ups to FTSE 100 and NYSE listed businesses, together, they provide the strategic direction that drives the company’s continued growth, innovation and long-term success.

Chris Knox

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Chris joined Insensys in 2007 as a business development engineer and became MD in 2012. He has led the company’s strategy, building long-term relationships with leading wind turbine manufacturers and establishing Insensys as a global leader in blade sensing technology. Between 2009 and 2019, he held senior roles at Moog Inc, including Global Sales Director for its Wind Energy businesses across Germany, China, South Korea, Japan, and Brazil. Chris studied engineering at Southampton University and holds a post-graduate diploma in Corporate Finance from Leicester School of Management.

Lucy Knox

CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER
Lucy joined Insensys as CFO in 2019, bringing over 20 years’ experience from Deloitte, where she was a partner advising businesses from privately owned companies to FTSE 100 firms. She leads finance, corporate governance, and investment strategy, overseeing the finance and business support teams. Lucy is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and serves as Non-executive Director and Chair of the Finance Committee at Hamwic Education Trust, as well as Independent Chair of the Audit Committee of the Southern Cooperative.

Andrew Gallon

CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Andy joined Insensys in 2002 and leads business operations, overseeing production processes, systems, facilities, quality, and health and safety. He manages a team of 40 engineers and technicians, driving continuous improvement in product yield, traceability, and ensuring new products meet the highest quality standards. Andy holds an MEng in Aerospace Engineering from Southampton University.
