Executive Team

Our executive team has overriding responsibility for managing the group and supervising its day-to-day management and operations.

Chief Executive Officer

Chris Knox

Chris joined the business in 2007 as a business development engineer working through a number of senior roles becoming MD in 2012.  Over the last 10 years he has led the business, building long term sustainable relationships with the most prominent wind turbine manufacturers and driving the market and technology strategy of the business to establish Insensys as the global market leader in blade sensing technology.

During 2009 to 2019 Chris also held senior management roles within Moog Inc, including Global Sales Director for Moog’s Wind Energy businesses operating in Germany, China, S Korea, Japan and Brazil.  In addition to reading engineering at Southampton University, Chris also has a post-graduate diploma in Corporate Finance from Leicester School of Management.

Chief Finance Officer

Lucy Knox

Lucy joined Insensys as CFO in 2019 as it became an independent company.  She brought with her a wealth of experience in finance and corporate finance from her 21 years at Deloitte where she was a partner, advising a range of businesses across a number of sectors from privately owned to FTSE 100.  Her experience included signing statutory audit opinions for listed and private companies, leading accounting advisory services for FTSE 100 companies supporting them through changes to critical accounting standards, acquisition due diligence, disposals and demergers.

She is responsible for finance, corporate governance and investment strategy, leading the business’s finance and other business support teams.

Lucy is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and also holds roles as Non-executive Director and Chair of the Finance Committee at Hamwic Education Trust and  Independent Chair of the Audit Committee of the Southern Cooperative.

Chief Operating Officer

Andy Gallon

Andy is a highly experienced engineer who joined Insensys in 2002 and is responsible for our business operations ensuring our production processes, business systems, facilities, quality standards and health and safety are continuously improving and meeting the needs of a fast-growing and dynamic business.  Heading up a dedicated team of 40 operations engineers and production technicians Andy is driving continuous improvement in our yield and traceability of our existing products and ensuring that our new products are manufactured to the highest quality standards.

Andy has an MEng from Southampton University in Aerospace Engineering.

Chief Technical Officer

Dr. Glynn Lloyd

Glynn has been responsible for driving the innovation behind our core sensing technology since 2002, following the completion of his PhD thesis “Resonant Cavity Fibre Bragg Grating Sensor Interrogation” from Aston University.  Heading up our growing team of 14 R&D engineers, as a world-leading authority in fibre-optic sensing, he continues to lead our technology roadmap, continuously striving to find new and increasingly effective sensing solutions to challenges across a range of sectors that operate in harsh environments.

Glynn has previously worked in a number of other senior engineering roles at Moog Inc, including being Director of Technology for the Moog Industrial Services Group.
